Sixty Acres

Hello Readers,
Today I am going to be writing about my outside English reading.

The protagonist Lee Waite in the short story "Sixty Acres" by Raymond Carver is faced with making two important decisions. Mr. Waite has the opportunity to lease his land to one of the duck clubs; if he were to do this he would get paid approximately $1,000 for his land. The other option he has is to keep his land, and preserve the nature and history that his land has.

If Mr. Waite is to lease his land to one of the duck clubs, it would be rather hypocritical. This is because before he was faced by this decision, he get on two kids trespassing and hunting on his land. This choice would make Mr. Waite look like he is only deciding to lease his land for the money that he would get paid. As for he were to keep his land, this would be the better choice because not only would he be keeping the land and preserving its history, but also not making him look greedy. A 'big' decision that I am currently making is for which high-school I would be going to. This is one of my more important decisions in life because this can eventually play a role out in my future. I would say that it kind of shows that I am just not looking at what is happening in the present, but also looking toward the future and thinking of what would happen if I were to chose between different schools. as for what subjects I would be studying mainly and the sports that I will play.

My Time Capsule

Hey readers,
Today I will be writing about four items that I would put inside my time capsule. These 4 items  would  relate to my childhood, heritage, accomplishments, and my legacy that I would like to be left behind.

My very first item would be representing my child hood, this item would be a Lego. This was almost the only thing I played with when I was younger.

For my second item it would be a statue of Buddha, since my family are Buddhists.

As for my third item, it would be a soccer ball. This is for many reasons, as the years have passed, I feel like I have progressed greatly in this sport.

Last of all, the fourth item. I would like to put my most valued soccer trophy in it. All the medals and such that I have gotten from tournaments have meant a lot to me for some reason.

Those are my four items that I would want to put inside my time capsule.
